Item
This is an upside down picture of my seagull bag. It is the bag that I wear around school. It's really important to me because it shows what the people I know can accomplish and all the people that support them. It makes me happy to see these customized bags all around campus.

MP 1
I decided to take a specific trip I made to class when it was raining. This is why the map and pictures in the background are slightly faded. I also did this to emphasize the text I was using. All I wanted to convey was the fact that everyone gets to school differently but we all end up going to the same class. The pictures in the background are shown in the order of where im at and what I do. The dotted line shows the order like a pirate map. The map in the background is the route that I take to school. I used a filter on the map to make it seem washed out. I think the work turned out well, but I would have rather not used words.
The journey to school itself is a very calming one when I have music in my ears. this can change at a moments notice however, because on many of the days that I go to school the bus is packed and your constantly bumping into people. The only way to get aways from this feeling is to watch the houses or keep your eyes on your phone, reading up on the days most current articles. After I get off the bus i am welcomed by a short walk to the stadium surrounded by construction. The walk is one that I don't necessarily enjoy but it has to be done.

Walker Barrett
Walker Article
I like the idea that being shown in the walker article. I fee like it helped to expand the way that I think about art. I always been taught to look for motifs or themes in art but never the over riding theme that is shown in art. this is an interesting thought that helps to show the progression of what people think of the impression that the world has on them shown through their art. I think looking at art like this you can tell where the thoughts of a person truly originate.
I didn't really understand the in the garden part. I felt like it floated through her life and precess's really quickly. I also don't think of rules so much as rules but more of parameters set in a persons head for what they believe or what they were taught as kids. There can definitely be a better explanation for this or a deeper study done to show what he was talking about.
Barrett
I like his thoughts in this article showing that age doesn't mater in your perception of things. You acuire those things when you're a kid. It's almost like your mind is programmed to follow what is shown in media and the media is meant to influence you. the magazine cover is a great example of this.
I do wish that they used more age groups. For example, there are many different levels in the development of the brain that can be examined. You could also look at more creative people vs. people who have a more streamlined mind. The only other think that I think could have been done is the presentation of the words denotation and connotation.

Cheese Monkeys in the Zone Defense....OHNO!
Cheese Monkeys
The excerpt from the cheese monkeys was interesting. It had a style that i've never read before. it was put together well but it also seemed like it was almost rushed. I felt like he needed to get his point across before time ran out. This makes sense if you look at what he was talking about and telling us. There are parts in our life that were supposed to be able to define in a moment and show everyone. It's like living in a world of people pleasers. We are inputs expected have a certain output based of what we know to be true or perceive but we still fail to see beyond ourselves.
I didn't exactly agree with the idea that there are perceptions of the world that are beyond us. We designed perspective ourselves as a people and I feel like we wouldn't be able to understand a dimension that we can't be in or perceive. We have to comprehend in order to create, even if it something that we make up.
The Heresy of Zone Defense
The heresy of zone defense was a very interesting article. It took a very different turn from what I was expecting. The language in the article was great and accurately described the feel you get as a person who is completely engulfed in a moment or sport. I agree with his idea that the use of rules makes the sport better and keeps it forever evolving.
The addition of rules makes the world that we live in more rigid and keeps us drawing inside the lines or makes us less creative. I would have to disagree with this partially. I believe that the rules that govern us and order were put in place to increase our chance for fun and to keep up from ruining the fun (or in some other cases survival). I just don't think that I would so rigidly describe the middle line between freedom and rules that we walk. I feel like keeping basketball fun is a little more broad then that.
